The amount of rights women receive in Asia and United States vary, however the pressures of these rights for women are the same. In an article  “Women’s Right Law” the author explains the rights women have in America and in the article “Tag Archives: Women’s Rights in Asia” the author points out the rights and pressures Asian women receive, which are far less than American women in regards to rights.
In the article explaining the rights women have in America, they have many concerning education, employment, and social programs. Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in education so that both sexes can receive equal opportunities. Though there are many laws giving equality to both genders in education, women still have a difficult time receive equality in the workplace, these can vary “from sexual harassment to unequal pay”. One main social pressure American women receive has to do with reproduction. There is still a lot of talk about “pro-life or -pro-choice, reproductive rights will likely forever remain a hot-button issue in American law and politics.” This issue, however, is not only present in America but also the rest of the world, especially Asia.
In the article “Tag Archives: Women’s Rights in Asia” the author describes the social pressures women receive regarding reproduction as well as the few rights they get. In China, one main problem is that women still suffer with Reproductive Justice, which is the punishment for violating the “one child” policy. This is a blatant denial of human rights, how women are being punished for having more than one child. This is not only occurring in China but also Japan, except it is the opposite; women in Japan are pressured to have more than one child. For those who do not want to have more than one or are not able, society’s pressure are unfair and painful. There are organizations to help let off societal pressures in Japan like Feminist International Network of Resistance to Reproductive and Genetic Engineering, FINNRAGE, this “ is one group that is fighting for women to be fully educated about their rights and their choices so that they can make informed decisions.”
